PARISH NEWS

MESSAGE FROM BROWNIES
Today— the Brownies will be holding a cake sale to raise funds for the Marie Curie Cancer Care charity. They hope to raise with other events about £1,000. Please support.

REV. SARAH BRYANT
Sarah will be leaving us in March and her final Sunday with us will be March 20th. After the 10.00am Parish Eucharist there will be a bring and share lunch in the parish centre to which all are welcome. Please see Sam Waldron if you are able to come to the leaving lunch on Sunday 20th March, we would love to hear what food you would like to bring for the bring and share lunch. Salads, quiches, crisps, etc and of course the outstanding puddings St. Aldhelm’s is getting famous for!! Please could we have some volunteers to help out during the meal.

SPRING FAYRE
—2 weeks to go - Our Parish Spring Fayre will be held on Saturday 19th March in the Parish Centre. We would be grateful for any donations for the stalls including; bric-a-brac, books, toys, cakes on the day, bottles, raffle prizes. Help also would be appreciated to set up and pack away. Donations can be brought to the parish office. Thank you.


EMULSION PAINT LEFTOVERS
If anybody has any tins of half empty emulsion paint to give to Frances at the Vicarage, it would be much appreciated. Bright colours are particularly useful – as is white. Please leave in the Vicarage porch or back of church. Thank you.

TRADITIONAL MID LENT TEA + FUN QUIZ
Will be held in the centre on Saturday 9th April between 2.30pm –5pm. Tickets £3.50 adults and children £2. Available from John Kilminster—tel: 257541 or Richard Gibbs, Pam Christy, Roy Barker, Joyce Lavender or Clair Pay. All welcome.

MOTHERS’ UNION COFFEE MORNING
Will take place in the lounge from 10am on Saturday 12th March, raising funds for the M.U. Relief Fund.

SPRING CLEAN ME
We shall be Spring Cleaning the church and centre on Saturday 12th March from 9.30am. Please come along and lend a hand—all ages welcome.

SHROVE TUESDAY
We shall be holding our annual Pancake Party in the parish centre from 5.30pm. Bring along your frying pans, eat pancakes and join the races. Fun for all! Helpers needed, please.

LENT TO EASTER
To mark Lent we will be joining with St Joseph’s to follow some of Simone Weil’s reflections about the Lord’s Prayer, Joy will hold a Lent study group, we shall mark the 70th anniversary of the Bourne Valley Air Raid—Full details can be found on a purple A4 flier at the back of church.
