S.T.A.K.S (St.Aldhelm's KidS) - Youth Club 2011

S.T.A.K.S (St.Aldhelm's KidS) - Youth Club

For children aged 10 years and above and open to all. Your "mission" should you choose to accept it, is to have fun. Group activities include volleyball, swimming, bowling, trips out and much more. Meet alternate Sundays during term time small charge to cover costs.

And the team are :-



20th February – Games in the hall - £1.50

6th March – Pizza evening with rev Sarah and Fr. Stephen. £1.50

20th March – Games in the DEN - £1.50

3rd April – Bowling - more details to follow



17th April – Easter cooking / egg hunt - £1.50

1st May – Alpine Adventure park
15th May – Games in the hall – £1.50
29th May – Outdoor pursuits at Butchers Coppice. – more details to follow.
12th June – Beach Games - £1.50
10th July – Moors valley – 4:30 – 8:00 bring a picnic tea. £1.50



Unless you are told otherwise meet in the hall and 6pm and be collected from the hall at 8pm. We will provide transport to and from the various activities although with the ever growing numbers we may require help with this.

WOMEN’S WORLD DAY OF PRAYER
On Friday 4th March there will be a service here in church to mark Women’s World Day of Prayer beginning at 10.30am—all welcome. Later in the day there will be a service at St Joseph’s R C beginning at 7.30pm—all welcome.

MESSAGE FROM BROWNIES
Following the next All Age Service (6th March) the Brownies will be holding a cake sale to raise funds for the Marie Curie Cancer Care charity. They hope to raise with other events about £1,000. Please support.

REV. SARAH BRYANT
Sarah will be leaving us in March and her final Sunday with us will be March 20th. After the 10.00am Parish Eucharist there will be a bring and share lunch in the parish centre to which all are welcome.
ST EDWARDS SCHOOL
On Tuesday 1st March at 8am, you are invited to the school chapel for morning prayer followed by refreshments. All welcome.
SPRING FAYRE
Our Parish Spring Fayre will be held on Saturday 19th March in the Parish Centre. We would be grateful for any donations for the stalls including; bric-a-brac, books, toys, cakes on the day, bottles, raffle prizes. Help also would be appreciated to set up and pack away. Donations can be brought to the parish office from 1st March onwards, thank you.


SARAH’S LEAVING LUNCH—BRING AND SHARE
Please see Sam Waldron if you are able to come to the leaving lunch on Sunday 20th March, we would love to hear what food you would like to bring for the bring and share lunch. Salads, quiches, crisps, etc and of course the outstanding puddings St. Aldhelm’s is getting famous for!!
SHROVE TUESDAY
We shall be holding our annual Pancake Party in the parish centre from 5.30pm. Bring along your frying pans, eat pancakes and join the races. Fun for all! Helpers needed, please.
LENT TO EASTER
To mark Lent we will be joining with St Joseph’s to follow some of Simone Weil’s reflections about the Lord’s Prayer, Joy will hold a Lent study group, we shall mark the 70th anniversary of the Bourne Valley Air Raid—Full details can be found on a purple A4 flier at the back of church.

Our previous Vicar, Stephen Lake has been nominated as the next Dean of Gloucester Cathedral. After 10 years as Conon Residentiary and Sub-Dean at St. Alban’s, Stephen is preparing for his installation at Gloucester on 12th June. Please pray for Stephen and his wife Carol and their children Katie, Sam and Joe.
