There is a safe children’s area at the side of the church which enables children to play/sit quietly with their parents or carers and join the service. ‘Busy Bags’ for young children are available. During term-time, Sunday School takes place in the Parish Centre. All children are welcome. Toilets and Baby Changing facilities are located in the Parish Centre.

PARISH MAGAZINE - Thanks to the stapling team our next Parish Magazine which covers December and January is now available at the back of church. (includes Christmas Tree Festival, concerts and Christmas Services and forthcoming Alpha Course).








CHRISTMAS TREES The list for Christmas Trees to decorate has now closed BUT if you are quick we have two outside trees left! Please see Ann Ballett if you can help decorate them.








ST. ALDHELM’S SCHOOL - will be holding their Christmas Fair on Friday 2nd December from 3.30pm in the school at Winston Ave, Branksome.









FRIENDS OF ST. ALDHELM’S - The Friends will be meeting for a Christmas Coffee Morning on Saturday 3rd December, come along for a chat and a mince pie. There will be various stalls. 10.30am—12noon in the centre.







SHINING BRANCHES CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL VOLUNTEERS - to enable the 9th Christmas Tree Festival to run smoothly we are in need of volunteers to ‘man’ the church. This means welcoming visitors, having a chat, making teas and coffees and directing visitors to the facilities. We have a list of timed slots for the duration of the festival and hope that everyone could put their name down to help. The list is at the back of church. Lets give the community of Branksome a good St. Aldhelm’s Christmas welcome!

ALPHA COURSE

In preparation for the Alpha Course which will run here during January and February next year, we are holding a meeting in church on Tuesday 15th November at 7.00pm to organize the logistics. As part of the course a meal is provided, so if you have catering skills please come along to the meeting or speak to Father Stephen.



MOTHERS’ UNION MEETING
On Wednesday, 16th November at 2.30pm the M.U. will hold their monthly meeting in the lounge and will be joined by Father Stephen with a talk about “What’s in a prayer”.





HOLY COMMUNION

There will not be a service on Thursday 17th Nov at Melton Court.


SCHOOL GOVERNOR

There is still a vacancy for a Foundation Governor at St. Aldhelm’s School, if you are interested and would like to know more, please contact Diane Eaton for more details.

Please support the Royal British Legion, poppies are available at the back of church. Remembrance Sunday will be marked here on Sunday 13th November at 10.00am. Please come and make your mark today, after the service by ‘fingerpainting’ a poppy for our display, led by Heidi which will commemorate those who gave their lives in the Great War, WW2 and the many and on going conflicts around the world.

TODAY—ALL SOULS SERVICE

Today at 6pm we have our annual commemoration of the departed. If you wish to have the names of your deceased love ones called to mind at this service, please write their names in the special commemoration book in church.

CHRISTMAS FAYRE—NEXT SATURDAY—12th NOVEMBER
Our Christmas Fayre will take place next Saturday from 10.30am—12.30pm in the parish centre. Come along for your Christmas goodies! If you have anything which you can dontate for the fayre such as bric-a-brac, books, toys, raffle prizes, bottles, etc please bring them to the parish office during this week. We would appreciate dontations of cakes on the morning for the cake stall. Thank you in advance for your help.
