TODAY—PARISH COUNT/FAIRER SHARE Could every adult here today please help—The diocese requires each church to take a count of its congregation over the next 2 Sundays, these figures are then used to calculate what each church has to pay to the Diocese as its “share”. Please help by filling out the small church attendance survey (even if you did one last week as we need one each week!) Thank you for your assistance. If you need help please ask one of the churchwardens—Barbara Rivett or Andrew Dray or Dave and Barbara Marsh or Sam.

Our budget for 2011
“I know that many of you will have spotted my deliberate error in ’Our Plans and Needs’ leaflet distributed in April. I had a slight ’senior moment’ regarding the Expenditure column. Three were significantly understated and are now amended below”:

The approximate monthly cost of running our church in 2011 is . . . .

Income £ Expenditure £

Investment income 12 Parish Share 3,499
Church Collections 1,000 Admin & Church upkeep 1,137
Planned giving 2,583 General Maintenance 167
Fundraising-after costs 500 Mission 100
Gift aid tax refunds 750 Insurance 291
Fees from weddings &
Funerals 229 Lighting and Heating 479
Donations 292

TOTAL income: 5,366 TOTAL Expenditure: 5,673

Leaving a shortfall of
£307 a month > £70 a week > £10 a day

“I do hope that prospective new members of our Planned Giving scheme were not misled into thinking that all is well with our financial situation, as so far the response to our ‘mini’ Planned Giving Campaign has so far been disappointing. If you have not already responded, could I encourage you to do so, as we have to report back to the Diocese with the result of the ‘mini’ campaign and I would like to say it was a success. Please speak to me if you would like to know more or to join the scheme.”

Thank You - John Sprackling - Hon Treasurer - Tel: (01202) 751553

By increasing our giving we can . . .

continue to provide ministry to the whole parish - services in church and school; baptisms, weddings and funerals; music in church; visits to the ill, lonely and bereaved; fellowship and social occasions - a living church at the centre of the community.

√ ensure we play our part in the community by supporting Busy Bodies Pre-School, Thursday Toddler Group and Tuesday Coffee mornings.

√ ensure we can maintain our historic church building and build up sufficient reserves to meet any projects identified in our architect’s five year inspection.
