Congratulations!
Congratulations to St. Aldhelm’s School for raising in the space of one day £1,000 worth of donations for Christian Aid’s Earthquake Appeal; this was during the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity and the services at East Poole’s churches during the week raised a further £1,000 for the same aid agency. Thank you to individual congregation members whose donations have made a further contribution to the appeal.

Parish Magazine
The February edition of the parish magazine is now available at the back of church—this includes details of our forthcoming “Fully Alive Lent Course”. Thank you to the stapling team for putting the magazines together last Thursday morning.

DID YOU KNOW YOU CAN SUPPORT YOUR CHURCH, EVEN WHEN YOU’RE NOT HERE?

Our expenditure amounts to approximately £1,400 per week.
This includes £911.86 per week which goes to the Diocese for our ‘Share’
Last weeks donations were as follows: Planned Giving £134.50 (including standing orders)
Collections £112.90, Our income tax claim produces the equivalent of an additional £170 approx. per week. The shortfall is made up from fund raising.

If you pay Income Tax, in each chair can be found a yellow giving envelope. Loose collection can be placed in these envelopes, completing the details requested (this will enable us to reclaim 28p in the £ from the Inland Revenue). If you are a non-tax payer, please put your loose collection straight into the collecting bag when this is passed round during the service.

Through our Planned Giving Scheme, church members commit a regular amount of money in order that we may be able to rely on a predictable income to meet our needs and responsibilities. Whilst we are grateful to those who contribute through the loose collections/Gift Aid envelopes, we need new members to join the Planned Giving scheme.

For further information please contact our Hon. Treasurer, Mr John Sprackling on (01202) 751553 or by e-mail via sprackling@branksomepark.freeserve.co.uk who will be please to provide you with

FULLY ALIVE – LENT COURSE

In the Autumn we were fortunate to run through with our Confirmation classes a version of the Diocese’s Fully Alive Course which Sarah has had a part in shaping. This Lent we have the opportunity to respond to the material in its finished form along with members of St. Joseph’s Church, our neighbouring Roman Catholic congregation.

The dates of the Sunday evening meetings and their venues are listed below: each starts at 6.30pm.

Bishop David has stated that the course is about responding to our Baptism by asking ourselves afresh, 'What are we going to do about our Baptisms? Does they make any difference to the way we live our lives and relate to others? How is God seeking to form us?' Bishop David says that the substance of the Fully Alive material is not so much a Bible Study or Discussion Group, as a Formation course. Come and try it. We will be ably guided by Reverend Sarah and it is really good that in our leadership we’ll be joined by Father Barry and Sister Marion of St. Joseph’s Church.
