PARISH NEWS

Today . . .
Today we welcome Joe Routley, a member of Busy Bodies pre-school who is being presented for Baptism. We are also proud to be marking Jim Nimmo’s twenty-five years of service as a Governor at St. Aldhelm’s School.

Advent Sunday
Today there will be an Advent Service at 6pm here in church and we shall be joined with members from Churches Together in East Poole. All welcome.

Christmas Trees
Today is your final chance to come forward and put your name down for a tree within our festival. Please see Sam this morning. We look forward to having over 67 trees this year!

Parish Magazine
Thank you to the stapling team for your hard work on Thursday.
The Parish Magazine for December and January is now available at the back of church.

Christmas Tree Festival
We need YOU!
At the back of church there is a volunteer rota to man the church during the Christmas Tree Festival. The rota is beginning to fill up—but there are still spaces! So why not sign up today!
Volunteers are needed to meet and greet visitors and make cups of tea or help during concerts. Please speak to Sam Waldron or Ann Ballett if you can help.
Christmas Tree Festival Posters—help needed….
Posters and fliers are now at the back of church. If everyone could try and take one and get it put in a shop window, library, work canteen, block of flats etc that would be a great help. The more people that know the festival will be on; the more visitors we hope to get.

Holly Fayre
Our Holly Fayre raised £888.86; thank you to everyone who was involved.
Anthony Nolan Trust
There will be another cake sale at the end of the service on Sunday 6th December.

“Twitter”
Due a technical problem with the church website the diary is now showing December 2008 details. Please refer to the “Twitter” site, here for 2009 information.

Thanksgiving Campaign
To date, we've had 37 written/verbal responses, which includes 5 new members and an increase in our Planned Giving, including the Income Tax refund, of just under £3,500 per annum, plus one-off donations of £475.

Fairtrade
There will be a Fairtrade stall at the back of church at the next All Age Service on Sunday 6th December.

Church Cleaning Rota
To help the few cleaning volunteers we currently have in church; Paul Torok will be putting a new rota into place. If you can spare 1-2 hours per week, every 2-3 weeks please speak to Paul. Tel: (01202) 744922 or speak to him in church. Thank you.

DID YOU KNOW YOU CAN SUPPORT YOUR CHURCH, EVEN WHEN YOU’RE NOT HERE?

Our expenditure amounts to approximately £1,400 per week.
This includes £911.86 per week which goes to the Diocese for our ‘Share’
Last weeks donations were as follows:
Planned Giving £257.00 (including standing orders)
Collections £244.10
Our income tax claim produces the equivalent of an additional £170 approx. per week. The shortfall is made up from fund raising.

If you pay Income Tax, in each chair can be found a yellow giving envelope. Loose collection can be placed in these envelopes, completing the details requested (this will enable us to reclaim 28p in the £ from the Inland Revenue). If you are a non-tax payer, please put your loose collection straight into the collecting bag when this is passed round during the service.

Through our Planned Giving Scheme, church members commit a regular amount of money in order that we may be able to rely on a predictable income to meet our needs and responsibilities. Whilst we are grateful to those who contribute through the loose collections/Gift Aid envelopes, we need new members to join the Planned Giving scheme.

For further information please contact our Hon. Treasurer, Mr John Sprackling on (01202) 751553 or by e-mail via sprackling@branksomepark.freeserve.co.uk who will be please to provide you with a box of Weekly or Monthly envelopes or a standing order form.
