THIS MORNINGS PREACHER We welcome our Preacher this morning who is James Sharp. He is currently the Lay Chaplain at Oakmead College and is training for ordained ministry he will be with us on a seven month placement.

ADVENT SUNDAY—COMPLINE SERVICE Today at 6.00pm, for Advent Sunday there will be a service of Compline. All welcome.

PARISH MAGAZINE Thank you to the stapling/folding team for putting together our December/January combined magazine; the magazine is now available at the back of church. Within the magazine are the full details for Christmas Tree Festival and Church Services.


CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL VOLUNTEER LIST To enable us to offer a warm St. Aldhelm’s welcome to our visitors during the Christmas Tree Festival we shall need volunteers to help man the church. Duties will include welcoming visitors and making teas and coffees. Please sign up on the list—lots of slots throughout the festival are available. Thank you.

BAPTISM SERVICE TODAY Welcome to all the friends and family who have come together today to witness the baptisms of Leo, Hannah, Thomas, Jasmine, Jack, Megan, Joseph, William and Sienna.

SENIOR SUNDAY SCHOOL will meet again on Sunday 21st November.

PANTO—LIGHTHOUSE—PETER PAN The Mothers’ Union are planning a trip to the panto on Wednesday 5th January 2011 for a matinee performance. If you would like to book your seat, please speak to Diane Eaton—715666—open to non MU members.

CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL This year we are planning our Christmas Tree Festival along the theme of “AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 TREES!”. So far as I write this sheet we have 58 trees taken. We need to have 80 trees decorated—would you like to have a go? Please see Sam Waldron for more information-contact via parish office phone or email.

REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY
Our Remembrance Service will take place at 10am this Sunday, Gary Waldron will be preaching.

PARISH MAGAZINE The next issue of our parish magazine will be a combined issue covering both December and January. If you have anything to include please see Sam Waldron today.
CHRISTMAS FAYRE Our Church Christmas Fayre will take place next Saturday, 20th November in the parish centre from 10.30am—12.30pm. We shall have lots of stalls and would love to have donations for the raffle, books, children’s books and toys, bottles, good quality bric-a-brac and cakes (on the day). Donations can be brought along to the Parish Office. Please see Sam if you can help man a stall or help set up, tidy away etc.

NEWS FROM THE REVD JANET DELANEY: Janet who is just finishing her curacy at Wootton Bassett, is to be licensed as Rector of the eight churches in the part of West Dorset embracing the villages of Askerswell, Loders, Symondsbury and Powerstock. We wish Jan & David every blessing as they move from Wiltshire to Dorset in 2011.

BONFIRE NIGHT Thank you to everyone who helped and came along to our Bonfire Night evening. We raised £736.33. So well done!

Welcome to our worship today
we welcome children in church at all times. There is a safe children’s area at the side of the church which enables children to sit quietly with their parent or carer and join the service. Toilets and Baby Changing facilities are located in the Parish Centre. Hearing Aids can be turned to the T setting for amplification. Please stay for “Fairtrade” tea & coffee after the 10am service.

Parish News
Today… Our service for All Souls will take place at 6.30pm this evening. A book is open at the back of church to receive the names of departed friends and family members who will be remembered at the service.

Parish Magazine
The next issue will be the combined December and January issue and the deadline for entries is on Remembrance Sunday (14th Nov). Please see Sam.


Confirmation
Would you like to be Confirmed? If yes, please see Rev Sarah asap. The next Confirmation Service will take place in January and preparation classes will be starting next week.

Remembrance Sunday
Our service of Remembrance will take place on Sunday 14th November at 10.00am with church parade. Poppies are available at the back of church.

Christmas Fayre
Our Christmas Fayre will take place on Saturday 20th November in the centre from 10.30am—12.30pm. We shall have lots of stalls and would love to have donations for the raffle, books, children’s books and toys, bottles and especially cakes on the day. Donations can be dropped off at the Parish Office from Monday 1st Nov. If you are able to help on the morning please see Sam Waldron.

Baptism Service
On Sunday 21st Nov at 10am we shall hold our final baptism service for this year. All welcome.

Our income tax claim produces the equivalent of an additional £170 per week.
The shortfall is made up from fundraising—such as fetes and concerts etc
If you pay income tax—in each chair can be found a yellow giving envelope. Loose collection can be placed in these envelopes, completing the details requested (this will enable us to reclaim 28p in every £1 from the inland revenue). If you are a non-tax payer, please put your loose collection straight into the collection bags when they are passed around during the service.
Through our Planned Giving Scheme, you can commit a regular amount in order that we may be able to rely on a predictable income to meet our needs and responsibilities.
