Bishop David’s Farewell Arrangements—3rd July
*full information is on a flyer at the back of church*
Saturday 3rd July will be Bishop David’s last day of public ministry and he will ordain new priests in the Cathedral in the morning. At 1pm in the Cathedral Close we are invited to come along to a picnic. In the Cathedral at 4.30pm we can express our thanks to Bishop David and Sarah as a Diocese. This will be followed by Evensong at which he shall preach. Seats for this service will be on a first come first serve basis. David and Sarah have expressed the wish that, rather than a leaving gift, they would prefer funds to be raised for the rebuilding of Bishop Gwynne College in Juba, Sudan. To date, £31,000 of the £66,000 needed has been raised, building can start very soon. Yet it has been felt that it would not be right if no token of thanks and appreciation were given to the Stancliffes for their life giving ministry among us these last 17 years. Cheque donations payable to “Salisbury DBF” marked “Bishop David’s Leaving Gift”.

DID YOU KNOW YOU CAN SUPPORT YOUR CHURCH, EVEN WHEN YOU’RE NOT HERE?

Our expenditure amounts to approximately £1,400 per week.
This includes £850.11 per week which goes to the Diocese for our ‘Share’
Last weeks donations were as follows: Planned Giving £292.20 (including standing orders) Collections £322.58. Our income tax claim produces the equivalent of an additional £170 approx. per week. The shortfall is made up from fund raising.

If you pay Income Tax, in each chair can be found a yellow giving envelope. Loose collection can be placed in these envelopes, completing the details requested (this will enable us to reclaim 28p in the £ from the Inland Revenue). If you are a non-tax payer, please put your loose collection straight into the collecting bag when this is passed round during the service.

Through our Planned Giving Scheme, church members commit a regular amount of money in order that we may be able to rely on a predictable income to meet our needs and responsibilities. Whilst we are grateful to those who contribute through the loose collections/Gift Aid envelopes, we need new members to join the Planned Giving scheme.

For further information please contact our Hon. Treasurer, Mr John Sprackling on (01202) 751553 or by e-mail via sprackling@branksomepark.freeserve.co.uk who will be pleased to provide you with a box of Weekly or Monthly envelopes or a standing order form.
