HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!




WELCOME as we join together for the service this morning, afterwards please stay for tea and coffee which is served at the back of church.


TODAY—EPIPHANY—PACKING AWAY OF THE TREES

Please stay and help to pack away the Christmas trees and tidy the church following the 10am service.



LIVING STONES APPEAL was launched on the 2nd December to celebrate the 120 years since the foundation stone was laid at our church. We are hoping to raise £240,000 for various repairs and improvements to the church and parish centre.

As part of the fundraising we shall be holding an evening called:

‘RAISE THE ROOF AND HAVE SOME FUN’;

something to look forward to after all the Christmas festivities have finished. There will be entertainment by a singer and a ploughman’s supper.

It begins 7 for 7.30pm on Saturday 19th January, in the hall and we are suggesting £10 donations. Shake away those January blues!

Tickets are on sale at the back of church from Di Eaton or available from the church office/school office, Busy Bodies or the leaders of the uniformed units.



VOLUNTEER VACANCY—VOLUNTEER MANAGER—SCOUTS

Branksome, St. Aldhelm’s Scouts are looking for someone with energy and enthusiasm to manage and lead a team of adult volunteers to ensure young people have access to the best possible Scouting. NEXT SUNDAY—23RD DECEMBER during the 10am Parish Eucharist we will have the Sunday School Nativity Play. If your child would like to take part please speak to Heidi Moxam, a rehearsal will take place in church on Saturday 22nd from 10am—12noon.

CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL Our 10th ‘Shining Branches’ Christmas Tree Festival will start next Saturday 8th December at 6.00pm. The festival will open with a blessing ceremony and the turning on of the lights by the Mayor of Poole. There will then be a concert beginning at 7.30pm here in church by The Big Little Theatre School. - £5 each pay on the door.

We will need lots of volunteers to ‘man’ the church and welcome our many visitors during the festival. There is a volunteer list at the back of church on a clipboard with timed slots during the day and evenings; please try and fill a space.



CAR PARKING IN LIDL’S CAR PARK it has been brought to our attention that people are parking in Lidl’s car park whilst using the centre or church and people have been clamped. Please be aware, especially with the Christmas season coming soon.





SPIDERS LEGS WANTED well not exactly! Have you got any clean 30+ denier black tights which panto can have for spider costumes? Please see George or Valerie.

There is a safe children’s area at the side of the church which enables children to play/sit quietly with their parents or carers and join the service. ‘Busy Bags’ for young children are available. During term-time, Sunday School takes place in the Parish Centre. All children are welcome. Toilets and Baby Changing facilities are located in the Parish Centre.

PARISH PANTO—HUMPTY DUMPTY—CALLING ALL BUDDING ACTORS!

Calling all children from reception age and above to be in the ‘Humpty Dumpty’ parish panto which will be in February next year. Rehearsals will take place today from 1pm—3pm in the parish centre.

CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL Our 10th ‘Shining Branches’ Christmas Tree Festival will take place on Saturday 8th December at 6.00pm. We will need lots of volunteers to ‘man’ the church and welcome our many visitors during the festival. There is a volunteer list at the back of church on a clipboard with timed slots during the day and evenings; please try and fill a space.




TODDLERS the Toddler Group will meet in the hall on Thursdays between 2pm– 4pm and every Thursday during the school term times. For more details give Rachel a call on 07557148826.




MEN’S BREAKFASTS start on the 1st December in the hall and then on the first Saturday of every month. You are warmly welcomed to join us for a full traditional English Breakfast with all the proper fresh ingredients for a good meal together. Breakfast starts at 8.30am to finish by 10am. £3 donation to cover the cost of food (and washing up support much appreciated.) Please let David Durlston Baker know you are coming so we know the numbers to cook for. Guest speakers; themes will follow.





FRIENDS OF ST. ALDHELM’S - CHRISTMAS COFFEE MORNING will take place on Saturday 1st December between 10am and noon in the lounge. Come along for a chat and a mince pie! All welcome.



CAR PARKING IN LIDL’S CAR PARK it has been brought to our attention that people are parking in Lidl’s car park whilst using the centre or church and people have been clamped. Please be aware, especially with the Christmas season coming soon.
