PARISH NEWS

TODAY

Rev Joe Swift will be presiding at todays service.

TODAY—PARISH COUNT/FAIRER SHARE

Could every adult here today please help—The diocese requires each church to take a count of its congregation over 5 Sundays beginning today, these figures are then used to calculate what each church has to pay to the Diocese as its “share”. Please help by filling out the small church attendance survey. Thank you for your help. If you need help please ask one of the churchwardens, Dave or Sam.
LAWNMOWER

The parish lawn mower has ground to a halt. Has anyone got the maintenance skills to overhaul it, it would be easier on parish funds if we do not have to take the machine to a specialist firm. If you can help, please see Father Stephen.

P.C.C. MEETING

The next P.C.C. Meeting will be held on Thursday 12th May beginning with a service of Holy Communion at 7pm followed by the meeting at 7.30pm in church.

FROG RACING

A fun evening of Frog Racing with a ploughman’s supper will take place in the centre on Saturday 14th May between 6.30pm-9.30pm. Tickets are available from John Kilminster, Pam Christy, Richard Gibbs, Joyce Lavender, Roy Barker or Clair Pay at £4.50 for adults and £3.50 for children.

BISHOP MOSES

You are invited to St. Aldhelm’s School on Monday 16th May at 10.30am when Bishop Moses from the Sudanese Diocese of Wau will be visiting and will lead worship.

SCOUT & GUIDES

The Scouts & Guides will be holding their summer fete in the vicarage garden and parish centre on Saturday 21st May between 12noon and 2pm.

CHURCHWARDENS

We are pleased to announce last Wednesday at the Archdeacon’s Visitation Service at St. Georges Church, Oakdale our new churchwardens took office. They are Barbara Rivett and Andrew Dray. May we wish they every success in their new roles.

POLITE REMINDER

If you have recently received you copy of “Daylights”, please could you let Sam have your payment. Thanks.
