We welcome children in church at all times. There is a safe children’s area at the side of the church which enables children to play/sit quietly with their parents or carers and join the service. ‘Busy Bags’ for young children are available. During term-time, Sunday School takes place in the Parish Centre. All children are welcome. Toilets and Baby Changing facilities are located in the Parish Centre.

THANK YOU to Heidi Moxam, John & Jan Kilminster, Faye & Clair Pay, Sam Waldron, Kate Parker-Smith for cooking pancakes and organising races at the Pancake Party. A good turn out with over 120+ people all eating pancakes!

CHURCH ELECTORAL ROLL If you are a regular member of the congregation and are over 16, please sign up for the Electoral Roll before its closing date of Sunday 11th March. (This is an on-going list). Blue coloured forms are available at the back of church, any questions please see Sam Waldron. Thank you.

CHURCH ANNUAL REPORT Please could anyone who has been asked to produce a report for the APCM Annual Report, please have their contribution ready and given to Jan Kilminster by 4th March, thank you.

MEMORIAL SERVICE On Wednesday 21st March at 2.00pm there will be a Memorial/Thanksgiving Service for Roy Green held here in church with refreshments to follow in the Scout Den (to help with catering numbers please let Father Stephen know if you are attending).

CLOTHING HELP Have you any of the following which you could donate towards the charity Routes to Roots, (clean): jeans, jogging bottoms, t-shirts, fleeces, socks, jumpers, sweatshirts (male and female). With the cold weather at present more and more homeless people are turning to Routes to Roots for help. Donations can be left at the back of church, in bags please. Thank you in advance for your help.

FLOWER FUND Please spare any change to go into the collection pot at the back of church to support the Flower Fund. Money will be used to continue to provide flowers to decorate church. Thank you to Dee and Faye for all their wonderful arrangements.

SPRING FAYRE On Saturday 17th March between 10.30am—12.30pm we shall hold our Spring Fayre in the Parish Centre. To get ready we are looking for donations for books, toys, raffle prizes, plants, toys, bric-a-brac. Please bring to the Parish Office. Thank you.

CHANGE OF TIME - LENT HOMEGROUP MEETINGS
During Lent there will be weekly housegroup meetings at the home of Linda Lawton (please phone parish office for address) and the time of the meetings will now be 11.00am not 2pm as previous advertised. See the March Parish Magazine for details or yellow Lent & Easter sheets.

MAGAZINE DEADLINE The deadline for any contributions for the March magazine is today, Sunday 19th February, please see Sam.

PARISH OFFICE The Parish Office is now closed for the half-term break and re-open on Monday 20th February.

SHROVE TUESDAY Shrove Tuesday is the 21st February, why not come along to our Pancake Party which will be held in St. Aldhelm’s School between 5.30pm—7.00pm. All welcome. Bring a small frying pan to join the races.

ASH WEDNESDAY Wednesday 22nd February—Services with ’Ashing’ will take place at 10.30am and 7pm. Following the 10.30am service the Mothers’ Union will hold a soup lunch in the lounge. All welcome.

CHURCH ELECTORAL ROLL Any person over the age of 16 who worships here as their main church can join the Church Electoral Roll for St. Aldhelm’s. (This is an ongoing roll, so you might already be on it from last year.) Being part of St. Aldhelm’s congregation, attending church regularly and joining the Electoral Roll—before its cut off of Sunday 11th March 2012, enables you to attend the Church Annual Parochial Church Meeting and if spaces are available join the P.C.C. PARISH PANTO—MOTHER GOOSE from today, Sunday 15th January, Diane Eaton will be available for anyone wishing to purchase their panto tickets following the 10am service. Performances will take place on Saturday 4th Feb at 2pm, Sunday 5th Feb at 2pm, Friday 10th Feb at 7pm and Saturday 11th Feb at 2pm and 7pm. Tickets are £4 for adults, £1.50 for children or a family ticket (2+2) for £10. All performances will take place in the parish centre. Tickets also available in the week from the Parish Office.

MOTHERS’ UNION MEAL Wednesday 18th January—evening meal at The Grasshopper from 7pm, please let Faye/Diane have your names before Monday 16th Jan—all welcome to join us.

WEEK OF PRAYER PROGRAMME This year there will be three meetings for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity; Saturday 21st January at 8.30am CtEP Act of Worship followed by a simple but substantial continental breakfast at All Saints Church Hall, Sunday 22nd January at 6.30pm CtEP (not just East Poole) act of worship at St. Peters and then on Tuesday 24th January at 12.30pm CtEP act of worship followed by a simple soup lunch at St. Josephs. ALPHA COURSE - St. Aldhelm’s is hosting an Alpha Course which is to be run by Bishop Graham starting in January. If you wish to take part please could you register with the Alpha Course Administrator at St. Peter’s Parkstone, Church Road, Parkstone, Poole, BH14 ONN by Tuesday 3rd January. (or email st-peters-park@btconnect.com). The first session will start here in the parish centre on Tuesday 10th January.

PARISH OFFICE - The office will re-open on Tuesday 3rd January.

PANTO REHEARSALS - There is not a rehearsal this afternoon but there will be on Friday at 7pm in the hall and next Sunday at 2pm in the hall.

PARISH CAROL SERVICE - Our Parish Carol Service will take place here this evening at 6pm and we shall be joined by St. Aldhelm’s Orchestra.

JUNIOR SUNDAY SCHOOL NATIVITY PLAY - The younger children who attend Sunday School will perform the Nativity on Sunday 18th December at our 10am service.

CAROLS AT MELTON COURT - Carol Singing will take place at Melton Court Flats at 2pm. Please come along and spread a bit of Christmas cheer, see Father Stephen for more details.

PARISH CAROL SERVICE - we will be joined by St. Aldhelm’s Orchestra and our Choir for the Parish Carol Service on Sunday 18th December at 6.00pm. All welcome.

CHILDREN’S SOCIETY CHRISTINGLE SERVICE - On Wednesday 21st December at 4pm we shall hold our Christingle Service—raising much needed funds for the Children’s Society. All welcome. Helpers would be appreciated—see Father Stephen, please.

JUNIOR SUNDAY SCHOOL NATIVITY PLAY - The younger children who attend Sunday School will perform the Nativity on Sunday 18th December at our 10am service.

CAROLS AT MELTON COURT - Carol Singing will take place at Melton Court Flats at 2pm. Please come along and spread a bit of Christmas cheer, see Father Stephen for more details.

PARISH CAROL SERVICE - we will be joined by St. Aldhelm’s Orchestra and our Choir for the Parish Carol Service on Sunday 18th December at 6.00pm. All welcome.

CHILDREN’S SOCIETY CHRISTINGLE SERVICE - On Wednesday 21st December at 4pm we shall hold our Christingle Service—raising much needed funds for the Children’s Society. All welcome.

Roy Green passed away last week, aged 89. Roy with his wife Margaret, had a large part to play in the life of the Parish. Roy took a major role in leading the Friends of St. Aldhelm’s and he served as Chair of Governors at St. Aldhelm’s Combined School. Please pray for Katie and Angie and all of Roy’s family and friends.

PANTO REHEARSALS TODAY - Panto rehearsals are in the hall at 2pm this afternoon.

CHRISTMAS TREES The list for Christmas Trees to decorate has now closed BUT if you are quick we have two outside trees left! Please see Ann Ballett or Sam Waldron if you can help decorate them.

SHINING BRANCHES CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL VOLUNTEERS - to enable the 9th Christmas Tree Festival to run smoothly we are in need of volunteers to ‘man’ the church. This means welcoming visitors, having a chat, making teas and coffees and directing visitors to the facilities. We have a list of timed slots for the duration of the festival and hope that everyone could put their name down to help. The list is at the back of church. Lets give the community of Branksome a good St. Aldhelm’s Christmas welcome!

DECORATING CHRISTMAS TREES - From Wednesday 7th through to lunchtime on Saturday 10th, the church will be open from 10am until the evening for folks to come and decorate their tree.
